Who needs to book a wedding venue when your garden looks as gorgeous as this and is right next to a lovely village church? Rosy and Tom’s beautiful Cotswold wedding was just perfect and enjoyed by family and friends who came from near and far to celebrate their special day. Rosy and Tom live in France but chose Tom’s family home as a setting for their relaxed and informal celebration. The wedding was held at the lovely local church and was conducted by the vicar, a family friend. The service was very sweet with some lovely readings including an extract from “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” read by Rosy’s sister. Rosy looked simply stunning in her Maggie Sottero dress and was given away by her mum who did a fantastic job of organising the wedding (she was the one who initially contacted me, thank you Jo!) and making some stunning decorations for their reception marquee. Rosy is a book reviewer and Tom is an avid cyclist and they both wanted some personal touches to the theme of the wedding and that’s how the idea of books and bicycles was conceived. It worked just great! Images of bicycles featured on stationary, cufflinks and wedding favours, and bicycle wheels decorated the marquee. Books were used for table plans and wedding cake decorations. I just loved the bicycle wheels embellished with flowers, books and crystal strands; they looked so beautiful and unique! All the photographs were done either in Tom’s parents’ garden or just outside by the church – with the location so stunning we didn’t need to go anywhere else. Guests enjoyed the beautiful views from the top of garden where the marquee stood, delicious BBQ food and a ceilidh band. The speeches were emotional and everyone joined in the ceilidh dancing which was also Rosy and Tom’s first dance. I feel so honoured to have been chosen to photograph this wedding and to have met this lovely couple and their families. I would like to thank them for looking after me so well and letting me share their special day with them: it was a fantastic day!
