A Colourful, Laid-Back Wedding at Milton End Wedding Barn, Gloucestershire
This lovely couple wanted their wedding at Milton End Wedding Barn to feel like a celebration, not a performance. No rigid schedules, no endless posed groups — just their family and friends enjoying a brilliant day on this working dairy farm in the Gloucestershire countryside.
Their two cockapoos were very much part of the wedding party, which tells you everything about the kind of day this was. Milton End is dog friendly with plenty of space, and we made the most of that with some relaxed portrait walks around the farm grounds. Guests spent time between the celebrations exploring the farm — meeting the resident piglets, ducks, and horses. It’s a working farm and the animals are part of the experience, which gave us some brilliant natural moments to capture.
The couple booked me specifically to capture candid moments rather than stage them. That’s always easier when the venue helps — and Milton End does. With exclusive use of the farm over multiple days, there’s no rush, no pressure, and everyone settles into a relaxed pace that makes for much better photographs. The rustic barn and courtyards looked stunning, and the grounds gave us no shortage of backdrops.
The evening kicked up a gear with woodfire pizza, live music from the Tux Fizz wedding band, and a dancefloor that stayed packed late into the night.
If you’re planning a relaxed barn wedding in Gloucestershire where your dogs are welcome, your guests can befriend the piglets, and nobody’s watching the clock, Milton End is worth a look — and I’d love to be there to capture it.
