This autumn wedding at Matara in the Cotswolds was one of those days where everything just felt easy. The couple wanted their celebration to be relaxed and real — no stiff poses, no forcing everyone into line. They wanted candid moments of their family and guests actually enjoying themselves, and that’s exactly what we got.
Their two kids were at the heart of it all, along with plenty of other children who had free run of Matara’s grounds — watching the koi carp in the pond, climbing, chasing each other through the gardens. That kind of energy gives you brilliant natural moments to capture without anyone needing to perform for the camera.
October did its thing beautifully. The courtyards and gardens were full of rich autumn colour, and even under moody skies the grounds looked stunning — warm tones everywhere you pointed the camera. The evening ramped up with woodfire pizza in a fairy-lit courtyard, a spectacular fireworks display, and a live band in the Hilarium that had everyone dancing.
