All Saints church Kemble wedding ceremony and Hare & Hounds hotel reception.

It was a pleasure to photograph this cosy December wedding at All Saints Church in Kemble followed by a candlelit reception at The Hare and Hounds hotel in Westonbirt near Tetbury in the Cotswolds.

I love shooting winter weddings. The light’s harder to work with but when you get it right there’s nothing like it. Everything feels closer, more intimate, and people just relax into each other when it’s cold outside and warm inside. My approach was the same as always — stay back, keep it candid, let the day unfold. No stiff poses, no standing around waiting for me. I’m there to capture what’s actually happening, not manufacture moments. That’s how you get photos with real emotion in them.

The results are vibrant, warm and full of life — which is exactly what this wedding was. From the ceremony in that beautiful little stone church through to the evening do at the Hare and Hounds, it was one of those days where everything just worked. Stunning florals by Lynne Jessett Floristry.
